My career began in vehicle Fleet Management, where I led a team and gained foundational leadership experience before deciding to explore an industry I had long been curious about—relocation.
Having moved both nationally and internationally throughout my childhood, due to my father's service in the USNavy and my Scottish mother, I became familiar with many aspects of the relocation process early on - especially the packing crews, which left a lasting impression on me.
In 2007, I took my first step into the relocation industry, and now, with nearly 20 years of experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a broad range of roles and responsibilities. This journey has given me a strong understanding of the end-to-end relocation experience, the critical importance of each function, and the ability to lead engaged, high-performing teams.
I had heard of K2 back when it first started, and even then, it was a company that had other RMCs talking. Fast forward to February 2022 - I had decided to take some time out, and about two months before wrapping up at my previous company,I was made aware of a role within the Commercial team at K2. I was instantly intrigued. I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and margins, and I understood how crucial accuracy is from a commercial aspect within Relocations.
I was ecstatic when I was offered the role. I still remember the buzz and excitement I felt during my two interviews - I just knew this was the place I wanted to be a part of.
3 year on I have been lucky to have positions within Commercial, Partner Relations and now as a Bespoke OperationsManager – EMEA, which has allowed me to return to what I'm truly passionate about. The cherry on top is having a fantastic team to work with - everyone brings something different to the table, and together, those unique ingredients create something really special.
Working through the challenges of the 2020 pandemic taught me just how adaptable and determined people can be. Guiding both our teams and our clients through such uncertain times reinforced the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong, supportive group. It was a period of intense learning, resilience, and growth - for all of us.
It’s hard to pick a single highlight, but there’s something incredibly rewarding about being part of a team that wins new business or seeing a colleague recognised for delivering exceptional client service. Those moments remind me why I love what I do.
